Yankees slugger Aaron Judge won American League Player of the Month honors for the month of May, MLB announced Friday.

The reigning AL MVP had a month to remember as he slashed .342/.474/.882 with 12 home runs and 25 RBI in 21 games. He also posted a 1.356 OPS, which led the majors in May.

He tied for the major league lead in home runs last month as well as ranked first in the AL in on-base percentage. He was also tied for the tops in RBI, runs scored (23) and extra-base hits (17).

His 1.917 OPS on the road in May was also the highest mark by a major league player in a single calendar month on the road in the Modern Era (minimum 30 plate appearances), surpassing Babe Ruth’s 1.838 OPS in August 1924.

Judge put up those numbers while missing the first week of the season with a hip injury, and didn’t return until May 9.
